Spring/ Summer 07 Press Days

A press day is where a Fashion Label/House invites the press (i.e. journalists & Stylists) to a viewing of next seasons clothes/ assecories before they reach the masses. Here magazines can hire clothes for their photo shoot or editoral's even, Champagne is usually served with canapes, and some labels like Paul Smith do lunch with an on site chef. Location: If the label has a large enough budget they will hire out rooms or even a museum as Arcadia did with the Academy of Arts. A great favourite is the Music Rooms where; Subranded & River Island held their's. But usually it's at the Labels showrooms, which is usually their head quarters. Invites are sent out although you don't have to show them to get in, so any member of the public could waltz in however this is highly unlikely due to the fact the Fashion Industry is one of the most close knit. Though not to suppose everyone knows eachother there can be a lot of snobs about! A great perk of these press days are the goodie bags!!!
