A press day is where a Fashion Label/House invites the press (i.e. journalists & Stylists) to a viewing of next seasons clothes/ assecories before they reach the masses. Here magazines can hire clothes for their photo shoot or editoral's even, Champagne is usually served with canapes, and some labels like Paul Smith do lunch with an on site chef. Location: If the label has a large enough budget they will hire out rooms or even a museum as Arcadia did with the Academy of Arts. A great favourite is the Music Rooms where; Subranded & River Island held their's. But usually it's at the Labels showrooms, which is usually their head quarters. Invites are sent out although you don't have to show them to get in, so any member of the public could waltz in however this is highly unlikely due to the fact the Fashion Industry is one of the most close knit. Though not to suppose everyone knows eachother there can be a lot of snobs about! A great perk of these press days are the goodie bags!!!

LFW S/S 07 Round up
London Fashion Week was out of the blue i'm not a journalist will i am now, lol. But somehow i found myself let in show after show. Seated right behind Hugh Grant, Jemima Khan,& Laura Bailey @ The BIBA Catwalk Show. To having Boy George walk right past me Backstage @ B-Rude Catwalk Show talking and taking Pictures with Alek Wek Backstage & taking Home a Model Goodie Bag @ ISSA's S/S 07 Show. Then having a deep conversation with Jenny Frost as if i had known her all my life (well they do say that the entertainment industry is fake?) I can now say i'm an official convert to Fashion Journalism! Quite remarakble i went to 5 On Scheldue Catwalk Shows @ the BFC tent, having only 1 invitation for ISSA's show a day after i emailed them demanding (well i did sound polite & used posh english, Dad see i do know my grammar) an invite, however i ended giving up that card to my friend and saying i was on the geust list as ........ ..... from ......... Magazine both me & my friend used that (thank God for ....... Magazine!!) and we were in for ISSA! After the show I & my 2 other Fashion m8's rushed in the Backstage (now ISSA where was the floor manager & what was she doing?) This was where i was able to get my mites on Alek Wek & take aplenty pictures with her. And also tell the Indian Express who was fiming that i was here sister & my friend said she was her adopted sister. The Backstge bar provided lovely smoothies and all non acholic/ fizzy drinks, & Evian water to refresh the models & press (will only me, being a blagging fashion journo).

London Fashion Week Catwalk Show
How i lost my LFW Catwalk show virginity:
So my friend says she has to go to South Kensington to give her mum her charger, whilst we're in Stratford having just gone to the hairdressers with her to do her hair, she begs me to go with her. As a good friend i reluctantly agree, we arrive in S K Tube and i notice a few people wearing official press passes and so i beg my friend Deija to allow us to go to the BFC Tent aka N H Museum after we see her mum, (who works in the posh apartments) she agrees. So after seeing her mum & leaving, we make our way to the BFC Tent bearing in mind we had no schedule list for LFW Shows it's all a bit Random. We arrive there & a secuirty man says to queue, then we wait behind an elderly couple so there's just 4 of us waiting for a show, which i now know was Manish Arora. The elderly man is friendly and after a brief cordial chit chat he asks where are tickets are? We say we're on the guest list, which breaks the Ice as he says he is too as he's come to see his nephew the Make up artist of the show, called Kubuki (pronounced like quebooki). So we watch this couple say Kubuki & ushered straight in as we decide to use the same name we wait ten minutes and decide to use the same name. However slight problem the PR man is annoyed ( I now know him as Micheal and we get on fine & he accepted me as a Fashion journo face staple), he says " Kubuki has had to many people", oh man it looks like we're stuck outside but Micheal went away and another co PR Man named Deepak is there we repeat Kubuki to him & he says wait one moment. He then comes up to us and says "Kubuki said to give you these", These being an invitation to Manish Arora's Afterparty @ Boujis (Yes the one where Prince Harry & his girl & Lindsay Lohan all love!). 5 minutes later we're allowed in i really feel the urge to run in but i decide to keep my cool & walk down the stairs in to the BFC Tent. Once inside we sit down on the third row and i grab a goodie bag from the second row which includes a Manish Arora sample from his S/S 07 collection (yes that means i'm a proud owner). In all i grab about six goodie bags (if you dont hate me yet, you do now!).

London Fashion Week: BIBA S/S 07
It's the long awaited and much press anticipated return of BIBA under Freud, so there should be no chance of getting in? Or so thats what they would like you to believe i arrive with another friend and tell security i need to get in as i'm press they say i have to wait. Then these to other girls from press come sayin "we're from The Times", and are allowed in i swiftly follow in hot on the heels with them grabbing the hand of my friend with me. Once in i conversate with them about what they are doing, press are then allowed in but at the door they ask for ticket so i grab my friend and go to the other entrance door where they don't ask for tickets and walk right in. On entering i found that goodie bags are only on the front row seats and sadly this is a trend to follow every BFC Tent Catwalk show i go to. As we walk to our row of seats i grab a goodie bag confidently as not to draw attention and my friend gets one. We sit on the second row near the catwalk enterance and are immediately blinded by the paparazzi's lights as they begin to snap Laura Bailey (the new face of M&S) who was seated in front of me. I too wanting to get in on this call out Laura darling, she turns round and i have a good photo snap of her smiling, people laugh and tell me i'm good (a journalist and a budding Photographer ah?). Then Hugh Grant and Jemima khan aka Goldsmith (yes money women) walk in and the Paparazzi quickly forget Laura and move on to the highest Famous Faces. The former part of the collection looked like Bella Freud had been lazy creatively and stolen her grand parents collection whilst the latter part looked more modern twists and up to date BIBA, i just love the slinky Purple Dresses.

World Music Awards 2006
Hey Fans Had a great week which saw me spend it with billionares, fashion designer's, Grammy-award-winning Singer/ Songwriters (Micheal jackson). Drinking nothing else but the finest most expensive champagnes & Canapes(Nobu). At the 18th World Music Awards held at Earl's Court, up on the VIP platform, saw me mingling with A Listers through to z Listers such as Jordan 7 Peter Andre! VIP was restricted to Black Wrist band holders even though others managed to sneak up, but right before Melissa (the producer who lives in Monte Carlo, a billionairess who puts the show on for FUN!!) threatened not to pay security if any more people came up. THE RESULT: Celebs like Peaches Geldof, Paris Hilton's camera crew begging to get up & Michelle Heaton crying because they couldn't get up, whilst i from above was laughing (lol). ENCOUNTERS: Slapping Sir Phillip Green (Owner of the Arcadia Group)& Matthew Knowles (Beyonce's Papito)on the back! Grabbing & hugging Roberto Cavalli (He was so scared, you should have seen his face & he comes from Mafia-land?!!) ATTENTION SEEKERS: Trevor Nelson trying to chat me up and Peter Andre's Brother trying to chat me up, and -remier league footballer trying it but i'm no Pg 3 Girl- i'm so above their league .... No thanks give me Jesus any day. CELEBRITY GIFT ROOM: It was so tacky and nasty, the clothes looked like an imitation and it was sponsored by a porn company!! no wonder i saw Jordan there stocking up with a huge bag, you know that saying tat attracts tit!!!! (LOL) The only good thing was the GoldVish Cell Phones made with white gold and 18carat diamnond (?lon) see picture above. AFTER PARTY: held at Paper where we enjoyed more Champagne & canapes. Kiesha from Sugababes was staring at me all morning (she fancies me!).

The Next evening was at Donna Karan's Gold Launch party function at her store on Old Bond Street With more Champagne & Canapes. Where i bumped in to fellow socialties Lindsay Lohan & Jodie Kidd ETc... I can now report that i'm official bored of Champagne & Canapes someone pass me Evian!!!!
Frock Rock Faux Pas: Was everything i wore, everyone was in smart black Donna Karan evening gown (apart from that girl who wore white, the tack style who was brought along by her manager). I was wearing jeans and a brought coloured pastel top, no no no, only because i didn't think i'd be able to get in. But as always i got in with 2 associates i had invited along (talk about adding insult to injury)!

LFW A/W 07 is just around the corner i can't wait, i'm so excited even though i haven't completed my registration. But hey i didn't register for S/S 07 LFW & still saw the catwalk shows, enjoyed an after show party & invite & get in 3 of my fashionista sista's. LFW February runs from 12th- 16th, with the Weekend as of yet TBC. This years should should be even better with an opportunity to asist at a Top LFW show (and i'm not talking about dressing!!). Watch out for my How to get in to LFW ticketless!! Post, coming soon. Rock that Frock girls, por siempre!
